Priory House is a Grade 2 listed building dating from the 18th Century, that started life as two private townhouses which were brought together when the building was sympathetically converted to apartments in 2006. Many of the original features have been retained and we hope that you, like may other guests, will enjoy the mix of these period features and the contemporary decoration and furnishing. Prior to the conversion Priory house was the York office of Relate (what used to be called the Marriage Guidance Council in the UK), if walls had ears!
All apartments have a fully equipped kitchen with granite work surfaces and include full size oven and hob, dishwasher, microwave and washing machine. Living areas have wide screen TVs, iPod docks and complimentary wireless internet for the duration of your stay.
Priory House is strictly NO SMOKING in all areas, and we cannot accommodate pets or "Stag" groups.
We have a choice of three apartments available in the building for short term holiday rental, all are slightly different in size and layout (please check the details below to find the one most suitable to your needs) but all come with fully fitted kitchens, stylish dining areas and comfortable lounges and are furnished and decorated to a high standard to offer flexibility, quality and comfort. You will have access to free Wi-Fi, laundry facilities, flat screen TVs, iPod docks, USB chargers.

Buildings from the 18th Century weren't designed with much in the way of concession for people with limited mobility of wheelchair users, and as a listed building adapting the entrances for improved access isn't possible. Even though there is a lift there are still a small number of steps to negotiate, both up to the front door and internally, so if you have restricted mobility or use a wheel chair, please check with us prior to booking to confirm that your needs can be accommodated.
